Maybe because of Covid travel restrictions, we dream even more about getting away for sunshine and sand.
Seems the last year I’ve been pretty obsessed with the TV show House Hunters International where people trade it all in and move to some sort of, mostly tropical/warm/sunny destinations. Don’t we all wish we could just do that?
In fact I know two couples who appeared on the show and did just that. One of them gave up medical practices (the whole American Dream) and packed their bags and moved to Costa Rica. Their adventure was so out of the box, that her blog she wrote to keep her family up to date on what they were up to, got turned into a successful book, then two and now I believe she is on her 6th book in a series called Happier Than A Billionaire!
Ever since I was little, for some reason I always dreamt of going to the south pacific. Maybe it’s because on TV most of the movies I watched with my parents revolved around places like Tahiti and Bora Bora. I loved the prefect sand beaches, the crystal clear water, colorful fish and beautiful palm trees dropping coconuts you can open and drink from.
It also happens to be one of the most expensive places to visit and hardest to get to in many ways! It’s a dream I’ve always maintained and hope to one day be lucky enough to go there.
I want to be in one of those over the water huts where I can wake up and leap off the deck into the bathwater temperature water. Snorkel with Nemo and Dora, fall asleep in a hammock listening to the gentle breeze of the tropical winds and the odd quiet splash of water against the piers of the hut.
The closest I’ve come to that is a few trips to Hawaii, which in honesty, I would move to in a heartbeat if I won Lotto Max!
But Bora Bora – now that’s a dream! Where is your dream vacation destination???
