I’m sure you’ve had the conversation at one point and time about what your favorite season is, or discussed how someone likes having 4 seasons….not me. Sorry but I’m the guy who likes summer, just summer. Pick the sunniest day, the warmest day and I could ground hog day that day, well everyday! I don’t need an April Shower, I don’t need the pretty colors of the leaves in fall, nor the crisp air and smell of the yule log in the fireplace during winter. Nope just summer everyday.
We went to Jamaica on a family Christmas trip one year and everyone was freaking out over not having the tree etc, but waking up to 31*, sunshine, tropical breeze, slathering on sun screen and laying on the beach under a PALM tree was amazing and I didn’t miss the other at all, and frankly neither did anyone else.
See I’m also a one season guy in my likes. Everything I like to do, all the sports and activities I like to do are all summer related. Some say “well if you took up other hobbies like skiing or snowmobiling during winter you would feel differently”…Nope, sorry…wouldn’t.
I would rather my “winter getaway” be one where you would fly to someone cold and snowy and ski, or somewhere cool and rainy and enjoy a cup of tea at an inn during those Spring Days, or maybe a trip to Quebec in fall for maple syrup off the tree and watching those maple leaves turn….ahhhh come to think of it – NAH! Just give me summer.
